Exploring non-financial corruption risks in development cooperation
11 November 2025
Under the auspices of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Egypt, this 90-minute online seminar and focus group explores how informal practices such as 'wasta' affect integrity, accountability, and fairness in development cooperation.
Building on the 2024 U4–Embassy workshop on non-financial corruption risks, the session revisits key issues and documents experiences from the past year. Participants will discuss how such practices shape access, influence, and decision-making, and how existing compliance frameworks may fall short in addressing these informal risks.
Through breakout discussions, participants will share insights and challenges in a confidential, non-attributable setting. The exchange aims to inform ongoing analytical work on non-financial corruption and partnership governance.
This webinar is by invitation only for
Staff of embassies / bilateral development agencies / multilateral organisations: Programme managers / controllers / compliance officers, and
Local experts on corruption / anti-corruption in Egypt.
