Why take this course?

  • To become better prepared for development work in a corruption prone environment
  • To get new ideas on tackling corruption as a development problem
  • To improve capacity to deal with internal integrity issues within donor agencies themselves

Expected results

  • Enhanced knowledge and understanding of corruption and the related academic discourse
  • Increased knowledge of international legislation and cooperation

The overarching goals

  • To become better equipped to implement anti-corruption strategies and policies
  • To acquire useful tools to analyse corruption in a given local setting
  • To become familiar with available resources on corruption/anti-corruption
  • To learn how to use the resources and services offered by the U4 Anti-Corruption Resource Centre

Workload and training methods

Participants work in small groups where they are required to take part in group discussions, and write two compulsory assignments. At least 30 hours of available time - spread over the six weeks - and a reasonably stable internet connection is needed.

It does not matter what time of day you log on to the Virtual Classroom, but please do not sign up if you cannot participate on a regular basis during all the six weeks of the course, as this will hamper the group work.

Guidance, facilitation and expert supervision

The participants receive help and guidance from a course facilitator. In addition, experts with long experience in the field of corruption/anti-corruption are hired to supervise the discussions and assignments.

Diploma

All participants who complete the course successfully will be issued a course diploma.

Course materials

The basic course texts - with links to further resources and downloadable literature - are accessible to all registered users of the U4's password-protected website at any time.

Course fee

Participation is free for U4 Partner Agency Staff and invited partners (includes ministry of foreign affairs and embassy staff) .
