In-country training:
ESSENTIALS OF ANTI-CORRUPTION
On-site training workshops for agency staff and invited participants
The U4 Resource Centre organises focused in-country training workshops
for groups of up to 30 people. Workshops usually last 2,5 days, and two
such sessions can be held back-to-back when demand is high.
U4 collaborates with Tiri
on the content and execution of in-country workshops.
The benefits of in-country training
Intensive, interactive learning for busy staff members
Country specific or regional focus with highly relevant examples
At least two trained and experienced instructors
Instructors will respond to local demands in terms of workshop content
and focus

Should U4 come to your country?
The decision on where to hold workshops depends on demand from the U4
partner agencies' field staff. Please notify your HQ
and anti-corruption officer, or e-mail us at u4@u4.no
to express your interest or to request further information.
Workshop content
The course includes the following elements:
Core concepts: analytic categories, explanations and drivers, consequences
An overview of integrity reform in country: past approaches by national
authorities and donors, civil society perspectives
The international AC agenda: actors and legal instruments
Strategic approaches to AC reform: special focus on measurement and
policy-oriented knowledge creation
Group work on discrete areas of reform
Please note that we like to work closely with the host agency to ensure
that individual elements of the course are closely tailored to the specific
concerns of the country.
All PowerPoint presentations plus a CD-ROM with additional resources
are distributed at the venue.
Who can participate?
Usually training workshops are primarily open to, and targeted at U4
partner agency staff. It is at the discretion of the host-agency and
other partner agencies present in the country, to decide whether to invite
participants from other donor agencies, government, and NGO's.
No previous knowledge is required.
Fees and costs
All participants must cover their own costs of travel, accommodation,
and daily subsistence. Lunch is organised for the participants.
Staff from U4 Partner Agencies, DIFID/British Embassies/High Commissions, Norad/Norwegian
Embassies, and Sida/Swedish Embassies, CIDA/Canadian Embassies (Canada), MinBuZa (The Netherlands), BTC (Belgium), GTZ, KfW, BMZ, and CIM (Germany), and AusAID (Australia) attend free of charge.

speakers
The instructors encourage and facilitate active participation in open
and frank discussions

the course, and diplomas certifying participation will be presented on
the last day.
