Ethics and Integrity in Schools in Honduras

The workshop is a joint initiative of U4 and the OECD, hosted by BMZ/GIZ in Honduras. The objectives of the workshop are, firstly, to enable GIZ and its partners in Honduras to build on previous risk mapping exercises, assess progress, and consolidate the gains that have been made with regard to teacher recruitment, promotions and performance evaluations. Secondly, U4 and the OECD will assist stakeholders in Honduras' education sector to explore additional methods and strategies for addressing corruption in the school system in Honduras, including incorporating anticorruption and values education in the school syllabi and enacting and enforcing a Teachers' Code of Conduct. 
The expected participants include Ministry of Education (SEDUC) representatives; representatives from Departmental Education Directorates (DDEs) and Municipal Education Directorates (DM); representatives from the central government bodies responsible for audit, transparency and ethics; donor representatives (USAID and World Bank Group); CSO representatives; the Teachers' Union Leadership; student representatives and parents' representatives.
